I'm excited for the opportunity to teach polymer photogravure, after many years of preparing myself and searching for the right space to be able to work in. I have studied with three very different teachers: artist Josephine Sacabo, scientist and great gravure teacher Clay Harmon, author of the recently published Focal Press book on the polymer photogravure process, and the wonderful master printer Paul Taylor of Renaissance Press. Each has their own unique way of working, and I have combined them into a way that works very well for me, and can accommodate a variety of visions and situations.
Most recently, I have learned the direct-to-plate (DTP) method of making polymer gravure plates, with the kind help of Clay Harmon at Mountain Intaglio, and Silvi Glattauer of Baldessin Press in Melbourne, AU.
I keep these workshops small so that everyone can get a chance to ask questions, experiment, and have a relaxing and inspiring experience. In the tradition of my teachers, I remain available to students after the workshop is over. The workshop is just the beginning of the journey.
